One of the benefits of being a weaver is the ability to perfectly accessorize your pieces. For this towel a coordinated inkle-band tag adds that certain something extra to an offset plaid woven on a rigid-heddle loom with a whole lot of Scandinavian flair.

Fika is the Swedish tradition of a sociable coffee break. This towel was inspired by a souvenir of plaid Swedish towels with hanging tabs. The palette echoes the colors of the iconic Dalahäst (Dalecarlian horse), and the bold off-center stripe design mirrors the pattern of the inkle tab. It’s the perfect cheery towel to have on hand during your next coffee break, whether you’re enjoying a traditional vaniljhjärtan or a donut from the shop down the road.

About Anne Merrow: Anne Merrow started weaving to reduce her yarn stash and ended up falling in love with the rigid-heddle loom. She loves to weave towels, because even the samples are useful! She lives in Colorado with two cats who insist on helping her warp.
